Psillakis Surfboards

Our first Junkyard Surf Shaper of the Week goes to Mike Psillakis of Psillakis Surfboards, shaping out of Brookvale on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.

Mike specialises in hybrids, high-performance shortboards, and alternative designs, with every model refined through years of hands-on experience. Shaping since 1989, he’s built boards for WCT surfers and developed his own hand-shaping technique, earning a loyal following of surfers who value well-balanced boards made for local conditions.

The Mercury

Built for tight pocket surfing and back-foot drive, with moderate to high nose rocker, a lower tail rocker, and a single to double concave into subtle vee for speed, control, and vertical hits.

The Galaga

Brings that era back with subtle modern tweaks to rocker and volume. Flat decks, forward volume, vee bottoms and wide points behind centre made boards fast, forgiving and easy to surf.
