No Upfront Costs, Simple 6% Success Fee
Listing your board on Junkyard Surf is free. You only pay when your board sells. Each sale includes a 6% platform fee plus Stripe’s standard processing fee (1.75% + $0.30 per transaction).
All payments are handled securely through Stripe, so you never need to hand out your bank details. When a buyer completes checkout, their funds are guaranteed and held safely until release. Payouts are usually deposited into your bank within 2–3 business days.
To start selling, you’ll need to complete Stripe’s KYC verification in the My Junkyard section of the app. Verification can take up to 14 days, so it’s best to set this up early before your first offer to avoid any delays.
Your payout is always guaranteed once a buyer completes their purchase.

You’ll only ever pay fees if your board is sold through Junkyard Surf using our in-app checkout. If a buyer finds your board on the app but chooses to purchase directly in-store, there are no fees at all. The small success fee helps us keep the app running, run giveaways, and support local boardrider clubs—so every sale gives back to the surf community.

Stripe holds the buyer’s funds securely at checkout and releases them to your bank within 2–3 business days after handover. First-time sellers may experience a longer wait (up to 14 days) while Stripe completes verification.

If issues arise — such as a damaged board, non-collection, or disagreement over the sale — Junkyard Surf’s support team steps in to help resolve the matter fairly. Stripe’s secure system ensures funds are only released once the handover is confirmed.

Platform fees charged by Junkyard Surf include GST. Businesses are responsible for handling their own tax obligations. Prices listed on the app are treated as GST-inclusive, so if you’re registered for GST, make sure your listed prices account for it.
